Darrin Stafford Music

Well, 2012 was busy and interesting, and I have the same expectation for 2013, only more so. I’ve been keeping busy with corporate gigs, dueling piano shows, and my solo stuff as well. Look for a major overhaul to the site in order to keep everyone abreast of all the great things I’m expecting to happen this year. I AM about to finish the album, so thank you for your patience with that. Other than that, I am going to do a better job of keeping everyone informed as to my goings and comings right here, so check back frequently. I’ll also begin releasing single songs on here soon, as many of the songs that I write probably won’t make an album, but I figure some of you might like to hear them anyway. Thanks to everyone that came out to the Viper Room this past Wednesday – we had a blast, even if it was a quickie of a show As it turns out, it was what my buddy Doug called a “prelease” party (he’s clever about things like that) since the actual CD isn’t QUITE done. However, i assure you all that it is only a matter of a few weeks now. One or two more days in the studio, getting the artwork together, and figuring out who’s going to master the silly thing, and it’ll be a done deal. Oh, i almost forgot: I’ll be doing an “acoustic” set at The Republic of Pie in North Hollywood on Monday, July 9 @ 7PM. It’s a great little space right in the heart of NoHo, and i’ll just be playing for 30 minutes, but come have some coffee and pie (they’re both very good here) and see some other talented performers. Oh, and if you meet me at a gig, please don’t be afraid to come introduce yourself – it’s always nice to meet new fans. Until next time…

Hello, world of web! Just to let you all know: i’ll be playing at the well-known Viper Room in Hollywood on Wednesday, June 27 at 9PM sharp, in order to promote the upcoming CD release. It’s still a few weeks from completion, but i’ve been hard at work in the studio despite dealing with a perpetual sinus infection. Suffice to say, i’m feeling better and things are going well. The show is going to be recorded in hopes of using it as a promotional video, so bring your friends. See you there! – DS

Hello everyone! Exciting news: I’ll be playing with my full band (and an extra guitar) on Tuesday, July 12 @ 8PM. $10 to get in and doors open at 7:30, so get there early to make sure you don’t miss anything. It’s gonna be slammin’…we have our first rehearsal with this group this afternoon, and I can’t wait to see what it sounds like. See you there!

Hello all! Not much to report today except I am now working a lot at Howl at the Moon in Universal City, and the Left Coast Wine Bar gigs are much more sporadic. I’ll have the calendar updated soon. Been getting back to work on the album, and am definitely hoping to have a release date before Christmas. Working so much has put a damper on recording, but that should be remedied soon. I know it’s been awhile, but the completed album should be well worth the wait. Also, i’ve started working on some new songs, so there’s even more to look forward to. Please feel free to leave your comments and tell me what you think, say hello, or whatever. Hope to see you at a show sometime…

Hello all! Hope your summer has been enjoyable, and hope you like the new look of the website. Things in LA have been EXTREMELY busy for me the past couple of months, hence I have not quite yet finished the album. But be of good cheer…the opportunities to see me play/sing have gone up exponentially (see the calendar link). Going to San Francisco for the very first time next week with Shoshana Bean, and I get the pleasure of playing keys with Grammy nominee Taylor Dayne on August 18 at the Americana Theatre in Glendale – can’t wait. On top of that, you can see me at Howl at the Moon dueling piano bar in Universal City several nights of the week now. That’s a really fun gig: the people are extremely talented and nice guys to boot. Stay tuned for all the things to come…until then: all the best to you & yours!

Hello again everyone. Hope 2010 has been good to this point. The album is getting closer and closer to being finished (yeah, yeah, i know). We’ll have some more new songs up soon. Also, I’m continuing my residency at Left Coast Wine Bar this year, but now it’s 2 times a week. Come and see me each Monday until further notice, and most Fridays. This week it happens to be Saturday night (the 27th), but in March it’s back to Fridays again. Please don’t hesitate to leave feedback on the songs, and all the best to you and yours. This is a great little cafe/wine bar with a fantastic selection of wine and beer from around the world. It also has a great PA and it’s own piano upstairs where I’ll be playing everything from jazz to pop to originals. Come out and request something – maybe i’ll give it a try.
